Been a while

So, let me see, what has happened the last few weeks. My belly has grown :) Finally, I actually look pregnant now, that's nice. The baby is kicking and moving around a lot, I can now feel when she has hick-ups and she's been playing and pulling on the umbilical cord too. I like it, it's nice to feel her in there, making sure we know she's there :)
We got a surprise package in the mail the other day. One of my good friends sent us a gift for baby, an "infant to toddler rocker" chair! It's awesome, and I love that our baby will be able to use it until she is 2-3 years old, at least! :) I had to put it together right away :)
I've also been a little crafty of my own lately. I tried something new, and managed to make/knit a baby hat with two colors and a small design! And it turned out really nice, I like it a lot, very cute :)
Yesterday I sat down and made a warm bag to use in the stroller when it's cold outside. All I need now is some buttons for it. I made it in fleece and I will leave it with an opening so I can choose to fill it with more blankets when it's colder, and take them out when it's a little warmer outside! I like it, it's really nice :)
It's fun to make stuff. And especially fun to make things I know our baby will get to use and enjoy :)

Here's some pictures of the things mentioned above:

The awesome chair for baby :)

The cute hat I made, "Strawberry hat".

I made another one, bigger size and a darker blue color.

 The bag I made, open.

Sightseeing in Utah

This past weekend, Sunday to be precise we were invited to go on a "cruise" with some friends. Basically they wanted to take a drive up in the beautiful mountains around us, see all the nice fall colors, and have fun driving around. We ended up being 7 cars, all really nice fun cars. 1 yellow Honda s2000, 1 white 2010 Mitsubishi Evolution MR, 1 blue 2011 Subaru STI, and 4 Chevrolet Cobalts, 1 turbo the rest supercharged. We had lots of fun and we got to know a couple of new people. For anyone local, we started in Kaysville, went up to Snow Basin (Ski resort) took a break to enjoy the view and talk. From there we went over Trappers Loop over to Huntsville, we stopped for lunch at a Subway there, from there we went almost to the top of Monte Cristo, about 9000 feet/2700 meters. Beautiful!! From there we went back down through Ogden Canyon.
Here are some pictures from the trip and some of the nice cars :)

The extremely beautiful landscape of Utah!

The 7 cars. From the left: s2000, Evo MR, STI, and the 4 cobalts.

A closer look at the 4 cobalts. Ours is the 3rd from the left. :)

Ours is the second from left.

Nice view, both of the landscape and a few cars :) This is down Trappers Loop.

Almost at the top of Monte Cristo. Notice the snow in the background :)

Another nice view picture :)

22 weeks

I am now 22 weeks pregnant! Time flies! Hope it goes just as fast the next 18 weeks or so..! Yesterday we went to the doctor again. We got in there, talked to the nurse for a few minutes, checked glucose levels, blood pressure and then it was time for the doctor. He checked the ultrasound, found the heart beating, checked again that it still looks like a she, asked if we had any questions and that was it. He definitely moves fast :) But I am happy as long as my baby's heart is beating and the doctors keep telling me everything looks perfect! :) And I can now feel her moving, kicking and playing in there a lot!
I really love being pregnant! It is an awesome feeling, to feel her move in there, wow! And now I can "see" when she kicks too, I can literally look at my belly and see it move or "jump". It is fun. And I love that Michael can feel her move too. And every night he reads her a story, we're working on Peter Pan right now (not the Disney version!), and the second she hears him start reading she starts moving! I think she already knows who her daddy is :) I LOVE it!! :D
The only complaint I have about being pregnant is my tail bone. It bothers me a bit... I have to be real careful about how I sit, how I lay down, how I get up, how I walk or stand. I can't jump, I can't run, I can't "fling" my feet and I can't cross my legs! Please appreciate it people!!! You really don't know what you have til you loose it! :) I hope it won't get worse, right now when I do have the pain it's not that bad, just uncomfortable.
Now, my next project is refinishing a dresser, and don't worry, Michael will do all the "harmful" stuff! I like getting things ready for our baby girl :) I can't wait til she gets here, in February!!

Well, have fun!! New pictures of baby will be here in 4 weeks :D

Target is awesome!

In the mail yesterday we got a catalog from Target (a store), on the back there was a coupon for a $20 gift card, all we had to do was start a baby registry at Target :) We wanted to go do something last night anyway, so off to the store we went. We sat up a baby registry, got handed a price tag gun and went around the store "beeping" at lots of tags. Went back, got a FREE $20 gift card!! Thank you, Target :) Of course this led to some actual shopping, and we ended up with a set of three onesies. The first one is super awesome and it says "Cute runs in the family", which of course is soooo true :D hehe.. We're all cute, and we know baby will be too!

I know, I know, I'm a little baby crazy :P Hope you're not too sick and tired of all my baby updates :P hehe :)

Rhubarb

Today I felt like making Rhubarb Strawberry Pai and Rhubarb Lemonade.

Rhubarb lemonade was very easy:

- Wash and cut rhubarb into small pieces (don't peel it first!)
- Boil them in water for 10-15 min (don't use too much water!)
- Pour into another pot through a colander to get all the small pieces out
- Add sugar and boil the lemonade for a few minutes
- Remove any foam you see
- Add lemon juice (as much or little as you want)

Serve cold

The lemonade while boiling...
You need a lot of rhubarb to get a little... four or five 12-16 inch long pieces makes between 1-2 cups.

Rhubarb Strawberry Pai

You need:

- Pai Crust
- Rhubarb (5-6 pieces about 12-16 inches long each)
- Strawberries ( +/- 1 lb )
- 1 1/4 cup sugar
- 2 tsp corn starch

Put the pai crust down first, then layer rhubarb and strawberries. (I did rhubarb, strawberries, rhubarb strawberries) Peel the rhubarb and cut into about 1 inch pieces and then in half.
Mix the corn starch in with the sugar, then pour the mix over the pai.
Lay pay crust on top of the pai.
Bake on 400F for about 30-40 minutes. Serve with ice cream or an egg cream.

Here is pictures from the process.

Half way done layering.

Ready to be baked :)

Ready to be enjoyed :) Anyone wants to help us out?

I got the recepies in norwegian from these two sites:

Visit

Had a nice visit from Mom this weekend (Michaels mom). It was so nice to see her again. She was super excited to "see" the baby and she was lucky enough to get to feel her kick and move around too :) I am enjoying her so much more every day, she is moving around like crazy!! :) We showed Mom around downtown, went to an Original Pancake House, went baby shopping, she got her a whole outfit, pink and purple with a bow and a matching pair of the cutest little pink sparkle shoes :) She said she has some that look similar at home, so now our baby will match her grandmother :) I also found a jacket and hat that I have looked at before (for baby of course), and this time it was on sale!! Yaaay :) So I had to get them :) Sooo cute!
We also stopped by a local hot spring, the water was steaming hot! And the mountains are beautiful, starting to get the nice red  fall colors.
Now it's back to everyday stuff, laundry and cleaning :) But it was so nice to see Mom again and we always love having visitors :)

Here are some pictures :)

Baby's first gift from Grandma :) I love it! It is super cute :)

The cute hat and jacket I just love :)

Travis found a new game

Our bird taught us a new game the other day :) He decided he wanted to play peek-a-boo under his blanket that covers his cage. He climbed up under there all on his own, then he came back out saying "good boy". Which is his favorite thing to say :P So we went over there and played with him for a minute :) Might be a little hard to see, but there is a little "bumb" under the blanket that keeps moving around :) And every now and then comes out saying good boy :) He is soooo cute! Just had to share :)
